Hy-Brid Lifts: A History of Innovation

Custom Equipment, LLC is a scissor lift manufacturing company located in Richfield, WI, about 30 miles north of Milwaukee. The company was started in 1981 by Steve and Lynn Kissinger as a small fabrication and welding repair shop. From 1981 to 2003, Custom Equipment made lifts for use in the death care industry. These casket lifts had to be strong enough to lift 1,000 lbs but light enough to not damage mausoleum floors, and so in 2004, Hy-Brid Lifts were born. These unique scissor lifts were launched after the Kissingers saw a need for smaller and lighter work platforms in the construction industry. Since then, Hy-Brid Lifts has grown to be a globally recognized name in low-level aerial work platforms with distributors around the globe.

Hy-Brid Lifts are the lightest scissor lifts in the industry with floor loading pressures as low as 62.7 PSI. As a result, they don't cause damage to finished or sensitive flooring, like mezzanines, data centers, offices, and hospitals with raised floors, allowing Hy-Brid Lifts to be used on the jobsite from start to finish. These compact scissors easily fit through standard doorways and in personnel elevators for efficient transport. They also offer full swing gates and low step-in heights to make loading materials safer and easier for operators. Combined with superior maneuverability, all-steel construction, and powder coat paint, these scissor lifts are highly durable and rental tough.

The Push-Around Series includes small chassis lifts that are safer than ladders and more efficient than scaffolding. Due to their compact design, they're easy to maneuver into position and have full locking casters. Standard AGM batteries mean these scissor lifts require very little maintenance.

The Zero-Turn Series consists of three self-propelled, mid chassis scissor lifts. Designed to compete with 12 ft mast lifts, these scissors offer innovative point-and-go zero-turn radius steering, as well as proportional lift and drive systems. A large work platform with a 30 in EZ-Glide slide out extension deck, built-in tool tray, and maintenance-free AGM batteries complete these lifts.

Pro Series scissor lifts are self-propelled, large chassis work platforms with unparalleled lifting capacities. These slab scissors also include a proportional drive system, a 30 in EZ-Glide slide out extension deck, a built-in tool tray, and counter rotating wheels that prevent floor surface damage.
