Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior Material Coordinator, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs manual and clerical duties related to receiving, inspecting, shipping, and inventory management. This position will mainly focus on receiving materials.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Unloads materials, counts items received or shipped and checks against packing lists, records any discrepancies the day the shipment is received, notes any shortages or damages, returns defective components to vendor, puts materials to their designated locations, and enters receipts into ERP system.
  • Inventory maintenance duties may include: monitoring inventory levels, assisting with routine cycle counts, assist with maintaining the Kanban system, stocking production lines daily, expediting needs on the floor, maintaining FIFO (first in, first out), and performing minor rework.
  • Maintenance/replenishment of Customer Service Kanbans that require subassembly.
  • Completion of daily receiving entries into computer system; investigate discrepancies as needed.
  • Receives and processes returned goods shipments; completes and forwards RGA paperwork.
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
  • Participate in regular MRB sessions, update MRB files in order to track data, and provide updated KPI’s.
  • Assist as needed with customer service part orders picked with appropriate documentation, packed and shipped within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Monitor West Bend plant needs for packaging materials.
  • May perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, Associates degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Microsoft Office and ERP system knowledge.
  • Preferred: Job related experience or previous exposure to shipping and receiving and/or inventory control procedures.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (will train).
