Hy-Brid Lifts Features & Benefits: Lightweight

08/09/2023

Hy-Brid Lifts design approach is one that focuses specifically on the reduction of our machines' physical weight and size. Because of this, our scissor lifts can be easily transported to the jobsite and within multi-story buildings. As a result, our mobile elevating work platforms have been spec’d into a variety of projects due to their low overall machine weight and floor load pressures.

What is Floor Load?

Floor load, also known as ground pressure, is the amount of force that a floor can withstand or the amount of pressure that a machine exerts. If the pressure exerted by a scissor lift or any other piece of equipment exceeds the capacity of the floor, damage can be done to the floor or to the building's structure.

While the weight of the machine is a major factor in determining floor load, it is not the only factor. Other factors that must be considered include platform capacity, gross machine area, occupied floor area, and wheel contact area.

How Lightweight is Hy-Brid Lifts?

The lightest Push-Around scissor lift is the PA-1030 which weighs 893 lbs. Our lightest driveable scissor lift is our PS-1030 weighs 1,500 lbs and sports the lowest psi (pounds per square inch) at 82.2 psi at minimum capacity. It's important to note that even though the PS-1030 is larger than the PA-1030 the PS-1030 is still compact enough to allow entry through a standard doorway.

The Lightest 19-Foot Scissor Lift

Hy-Brid Lifts' PS-1930 is the lightest 19-foot scissor lift on the market, weighing in at just 1,985 pounds. This is significantly lighter than the competition, which averages over 3,000 pounds. This weight difference gives Hy-Brid Lifts a major advantage in terms of floor loads and portability.

In addition to being lightweight, all Hy-Brid Lifts Scissor lifts also have high lifting capacities

The Benefits of Lightweight Scissor Lifts

Lightweight scissor lifts are a valuable tool for any job site. They are lighter than traditional scissor lifts, making them easier to transport and maneuver in tight spaces. This allows you to fit more lifts on a floor, which can save time and money on busy job sites.

Lightweight scissor lifts can also access locations that would be inaccessible with traditional scissor lifts. This includes access/computer flooring, sensitive flooring (tile, wood, etc.),and mass timber buildings. The lighter weight of these lifts means they can be placed on elevators and go through standard doors, making them ideal for multi-story buildings and job sites with limited space.

In addition to being lighter and more maneuverable, lightweight scissor lifts can also be transported more efficiently. They are compact and lighter, so more can be transported on a truckload. This can save businesses time and money on transportation costs.

Overall, lightweight scissor lifts offer several advantages over traditional scissor lifts. They are lighter, easier to transport, and can access more locations on the job site. This makes them a valuable tool for any job site, especially those with strict floor load requirements.
