Why is it so important to inspect your scissor lift before use every day? It’s for your own safety. If damage or functional errors are identified prior to use, it could save your life. Not your supervisor or the last person to use the lift’s life, but your life.
Start with a visual inspection. Check for damages and missing parts. Also ensure there are no hydraulic leaks or worn hoses. After the visual inspection, move on to functional tests. Check all switches and buttons for proper operation on the platform and base controls. Make sure all emergency stops work, the brakes engage and hold when the platform is elevated, and the wheels rotate freely.
